Adampur, Amritsar remain below the zero degree mark

Jalandhar, Feb 14 (UNI) People braved cold conditions as the night temperature continued to remain below zero degree at Adampur in Punjab despite bright sunshine.

According to a Defence spokesperson, the Indian Air Force (IAF) station at Adampur near here recorded the minimum temperature at minus 1.1 degrees Celsius as against yesterday's minus 1.4 degrees.

It was the fourth successive night when the minimum temperature was below the zero mark.

The minimum temperature in holy city of Amritsar also plunged to minus 1.0 degree Celsius.

The night temperature recorded at Halwara air force station near Ludhiana was 2.6 degrees Celsius, an increase of just one degree from yesterday's 1.6 degrees.

The border town of Pathankot and Bathinda were equally cold at 4.4 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature registered in the Union Territory of Chandigarh was 5.6 degrees Celsius.

The Defence Met section has predicted mist and haze in the morning and a clear weather during the day in the next 24 hours.
