4 killed, 2 injured in car-lorry collision

Villupuram (Tamil Nadu), Feb 14: Four persons were killed on the spot and two injured when a Tata Sumo in which they were travelling collided head-on with a lorry at Pidagam near here this morning.

Police said the deceased were identified as K Valarmathi (45), K Veni(48), Eswari (28) and car driver Pandiyan. The victims, native of Madurai and settled in Malaysia, were on their way to Chennai airport to return back to Malaysia after a visit to their native place when the accident occurred. The injured were admitted to the Villupuram Government General hospital.

The bodies were taken to the hospital for post-mortem, police added.
