36 cases registered within 4 hours!
Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) The city police had last evening registered 36 cases of rioting within just four hours following the arrest of MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
As many as 89 people were arrested and hundreds of others are wanted in these cases, police said.
They were booked under charges like rioting, obstructing government officials from discharging their duties, and threatening shop-keepers, they said.
In the violence yesterday, 14 BEST buses, 11 state transport corporation buses, two auto-rickshaws and two taxis, were damaged in stone pelting. A hotel and a shop were also ransacked by the irate mobs.
