Wipro to provide semiconductor services to NEC Electronics
Bangalore, Feb 13 (UNI) IT giant Wipro Technologies today announced that it has been selected by Japan-based NEC Electronics to provide semiconductor design services.
The company had established a dedicated engineering development centre for NEC Electronics at its facility in the city. The centre was inaugurated by NEC Electronics President and CEO Toshio Nakajima.
Talking to newspersons here, Wipro Technologies President (Telecom and Product Engineering Solutions) Sudip Nandy said the centre would provide both front-end and back-end design services and IP to NEC for Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) and microcontrollers in the digital consumer and automotive areas.
Wipro would also work on various designs ranging from 150 nm, 130 nm and up to 55 nm.
''Wipro would leverage its vast VLSI experience, coupled with our in-house design methodology-Eagle Wision, to deliver first time right designs to NEC Electronics'', he added.
