Westerlies return, UP shivers

Lucknow, Feb 13 (UNI) The piercing cold, persisting across Uttar Pradesh since last fortnight is likely to continue with chilly westerlies returning to the state.

According to weather department, ''people of Uttar Pradesh should get prepared for some more raw nights as no respite is expected in the coming 10 days.'' Lucknow was the coldest recording 4.2 degrees.

Sultanpur registered 4.8, followed by Gorakhpur 6.8, 'Temple Town' Varanasi 7.3, Behraich 5.6 and 'Taj City' Agra 5.

In Allahabad, people continued to shiver due to nipping cold continuing across the city since the last few weeks.
