Six traders charged in adulterated oil case
Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 13 (UNI) A case under Food Adulteration (Prevention) Act has been filed against six traders for adulterating edible oil worth more than Rs 1 crore.
Official sources said food department filed a case against Mahamaya Filters Director Roshan Agrawal, Mittal Rice Mill trader Sanjay Mittal, Sanjay Traders' Sanjay Agrawal, Sankat Mochan Oil and Rice Mill's Vijay Goyal and Sushila Goyal and Ajay Traders Director Ajay Sultania under Section 420, 273 of Indian Penal Code and Section 7(16) of Food Adulteration (Prevention) Act yesterday.
The case was registered against the traders after All Party Forum staged demonstration demanding stern action against those involved in adulteration on Monday. Huge quantity of adulterated oil was seized during raid by district authorities from the godowns of eight traders in the town few days ago.
