Poisonous gases kill 4 in WB
Balurghat, Feb 13 (UNI) At least four people were killed and another taken ill due to asphyxiation at a jaggery-making factory in Raiganj area of North Dinajpur district in West Bengal today.
DIG D T Lepcha said the ailing person was admitted to the Raiganj Hospital.
''Suffocation by poisonous gases, emitted in the factory, is suspected to be the cause of the deaths,'' the DIG told newspersons.
A case had been registered against the factory owner and he would be arrested, the DIG added.
