Official caught accepting bribe

Hyderabad, Feb 13 (UNI) The Sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught red-handed a Fisheries Development Officer at K R Puram in West Godavari District while accepting Rs 15,000 as bribe from a person.

The ACB officials arrested S Sanjeeva Rao and recovered the tainted amount from him. He would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases here.

In another case, the Special Judge for ACB Cases in Hyderabad convicted Former Sub-Inspector Mohd Fakruddin and sentenced him to undertgo one year rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 500.

He was trapped by the ACB officials on February 4, 1999 while accepting Rs 1000 as bribe from a complainant, an official release said here.
