Nagarjuna, Nandita Das win Nandi Awards
Hyderabad, Feb 13 (UNI) Actors A Nagarjuna and Nandita Das won the honours for their peformances while 'Bommarillu' was adjudged the 'Best Feature Film' for the Nandi Awards for the year 2006 announced here today.
Addressing the press here, Andhra Pradesh Nandi Awards Committee Chairman M S Reddy said while Nagarjuna was selected as the 'Best Leading Actor' for his role in 'Sri Rama Dasu', a mythological, Nandita Das claimed the honour for Best Female Lead for her role in 'Kamili.' The Best Director Award went to Sekhar Kammula for 'Godavari.' 'Bommarillu' was adjudged the Best Feature Film while 'Godavari' and 'Ganga' won the second and third places in feature films category respectively.
The first and second places for the Best Children Films went to 'Bharati' and 'Kittu' respectively. The award for the Best Children's Film Director would be given to R S Raju for 'Bharati'.
Prakash Raj was adjudged the Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Bommarillu'while Eswari was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress for 'Ganga.' The Best Comedian Actor, Actress and Villain Awards would be presented to Venu Madhav, Abhinayasri and Sai Kumar respectively.
The Best Child Actor and Actress awards would go to Master Raghava and Baby Sri Divya.
K M Radha Krishna would get the Best Music Director Award for 'Godavari' while Vijay Kumar was adjudged the Best Cinematographer for the same film.
K J Yesudas was selected as the Best Playback Singer (Ganga) and Sunitha got the honour as the Best Female Playback Singer (Godavari).
