MPHC notice to engineer who challenged PM

Jabalpur, Feb 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today ordered issuance of a notice to an engineer who urged a lower court to register a case vis-a-vis submission of a Ram Sethu-related affidavit, by the Centre in the Supreme Court, denying Ram's existence and thereby ''hurting'' Hindu sentiments.

Mr Deepak Agrawal had moved the court of Itarsi's Judicial Magistrate Prayaglal Dinkar who recently directed police to register a case against against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Law Minister Hansraj Bhardwaj, Culture Minister Ambika Soni and others.

Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik took cognisance of newspaper reports and yesterday directed Justice R C Mishra to examine the lower court's order. Justice Mishra stayed the order and directed issuance of the notice.
