UP: Marble idols stolen in Varanasi

Varanasi, Feb 13: Idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman were stolen from a temple in Jhansa area here late last night, police said today.

The theft took place at Santanpur village, where miscreants broke into the temple and decamped with the marble idols, police said.

On February 11, Lord Bhairo's silver mask was stolen from Laat Bhairo temple here following which the Senior Superintendent of Police had suspended five policemen in this regard.

Since then, armed policemen were deployed in the temple premises.
