Mahout killed as elephant turns violent
Thrissur, Kerala, Feb 13 (UNI) A temple elephant gored its mahout to death and injured another seriously at Vellithiruthi near Kunnamkulam, today in this district.
Velayudhan (39) of Erumapetty in the district was killed when he tried to tame the animal as it started getting restless during a temple festival.
The other mahout, Viswambaran, was also injured in the effort, the sources said, adding the elephant belonged to the famous Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayoor.
