Heavy rains in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 13 (UNI) Rains lashed many parts of Kerala and dry weather prevailed in Lakshadweep, the local met office said today.

The sudden rain was due to the formation of a low-pressure near Kerala coast.

Kanjirapalli and Paravoor recorded five cm of rains. Mangombu and Mavelikkara received four cm of rains. Punalur, Kayamkulam and Kunnamkulam recorded a rainfall of three cm each.

Rains or thundershowers were expected to be lashed in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hrs, it said.
