HC reserves judgement in Rita Joshi's case

Allahabad, Feb 13 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today reserved its judgement on a writ petition filed by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Rita Bahuguna Joshi seeking stay on her arrest in connection with the multi-crore land scam.

The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices Vinod Prasad and A K Singh on a writ petition filed by Ms Joshi.

On January 21, UP Congress Chief had filed a petition before the Allahabad HC, seeking stay on her arrest in connection with a multi-crore land scam.

Ms Joshi had also sought quashing of an FIR lodged against her at Civil Lines police station in Allahabad.

On January 16, a complaint against Ms Joshi and others was registered at the Civil Lines police station under Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC.

The complainant Shiv Babu Gupta, the president of Brashtachar Unmulan Samiti had alleged that the UPCC president had committed a criminal act by misusing her office and indulging in illegal means in the matter related with Fatehpur Bichwa multi-crore land scam under George Town police station here.
