Haryana launches drive to check LPG scarcity

Chandigarh, Feb 13 (UNI) Haryana has launched a drive across the state to end the shortage of LPG cylinders which has kept housewives on an edge throughout the winter season.

Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Food and Supply Department Haryana has directed all District Food and Supply Controllers to start a campaign to overcome the LPG scarcity by maintaining coordination with the officers of oil companies in their respective districts.

The Financial Commissioner said that during the campaign, which would last till February 25, all the applications for fake gas connections would be identified and rejected.

Besides, information about the availability of LPG would be provided by giving advertisement in newspapers.

The Financial Commissioner also instructed the officers for checking the unauthorized use of LPG in the vehicles as well as by the owners of hotels, dhabas, halvais and marriage palaces.

Strict actions would be taken against the illegal users of LPG, he said.
