Dy Collector penalised for violating RTI Act

Hyderabad, Feb 13: The Andhra Pradesh Information Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 on Balangar Deputy Collector for not furnishing information to the appellant and violating notices issued to him under Right to Information Act.

The Commission directed the Ranga Reddy District Collector to implement the orders of the Commission against Deputy Collector K Yadagiri Reddy, an official release here said today. The Commission directed all the Public Information Officers and Appellate Authorities in the state to be prompt in disposing applications and appeals as per the time prescribed under RTI Act.
