Distress Alert Transmitters for fishermen

Tuticorin, Feb 13 (UNI) Animal Husbandry Minister Geetha Jeevan today distributed Distress Alert Transmitters (DAT) to the fishermen of Tuticorin and Kanniakumari districts.

The DAT would be distributed to them by the Coast Guard at a concessional price of Rs 10,000 against the actual price of Rs 45,000.

Superintendent of Police Deepak Damore presided over the function, which was organised by the Fisheries Department.
