CRPF constable from Assam missing in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 13 (UNI) A constable of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is missing from his company headquarter in south Kashmir, official sources said.

They said Atul Basu Bitalli, a resident of Jangberi, Assam, is missing since February 11 from the company headquarter of 61 batallion.

The 23-years -old constable had left the headquarter at Kokernag in south Kashmir without informing his colleagues, the sources said, adding an FIR has been lodged at a local police station.

This is the first incident during this year when a CRPF constable is reported missing in the valley.

Officials believed that he might have deserted the force and left for home because of heaviest snowfall in 20 years and minus 10 degree temperature in most parts of south Kashmir.
