Andhra Pradesh Assembly adjourns for a day

Hyderabad, Feb 13: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for the day when the opposition TRS members today stalled the proceedings, demanding the House to pass a resolution on separate Telangana.

When the House assembled for the Question Hour, the TRS members rushed into the Well, waving placards and raising slogans against the government. The Speaker initially adjourned the House twice for ten minutes, when his repeated plea to the TRS members to resume their seats fell on deaf ears.

After the House reassembled, the TDP, CPI and CPI(M) demanded the Speaker to set aside the Question Hour and take up their adjournment motions on recent rains and crop damages.

To this, Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah informed the House that Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao had visited the affected areas and the matter could be taken up for discussion in the House after he evaluated the damage.

However, the TRS members continued with their protest, demanding to take up their adjournment motion, following which the Speaker adjourned the House for the day.
