720 micro observers for Tripura election
Agartala, Feb 13 (UNI) With the instruction of Election Commission of India (ECI), Tripura election department has appointed about 720 micro observers from 12 various central government departments to ensure free and fair election slated for February 23 next.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura Dr G S G Ayyangar stated here today that the orientation programme for the micro observers would be held on February 15 and they would report to concerning observers on February 21.
And at the same time, the observers would hold meetings with candidates of various political parties and prepare a worrysome list of the polling booths according to the opinion of the concerning candidates and micro observers.
The state administration has already identified 108 polling booths as very vulnerable, while 550 booths were identified as vulnerable. The final list of the high-risk polling stations in regard to security threat would be finalised in the meeting of ECI and observers considering the inputs from respective sources, he added.
