WB: 615 gm heroin recovered in Hooghly

Hooghly, Feb 13: The CID narcotic department along with Hooghly district police in a joint raid recovered 615 gm of heroin, worth Rs 60 lakh, from a private lodge in Tarakeswar.

Chandanagore Sub-Divional Police Officer Kalyan Mukherjee said yesterday three people had been arrested in this connection and Rs 1,56,000 recovered in cash from them.

Police primarly suspect that the three were from Uttar Pradesh and supplied narcotics to the district and its adjoining areas.
