Automobile firms to reveal fuel efficiency data

New Delhi, Feb 12, 2008 : According to sources for the first time in India, car and two-wheeler manufacturers will have to reveal data on fuel efficiency to the government.

The disclosure is said to have come as part of the process of petroleum ministry's Petroleum Conservation Research Association or PCRA and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency for setting fuel-efficiency standards for the automotive industry.
