Three nabbed with 1 kg smack in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Feb 12: Police arrested here three persons and seized nearly one kg of smack from their possession.

Superintendent of Police SK Kalia said yesterday that the three drug peddlers identified as Amarjeet Singh, Kashmir Singh and Vikram Singh, all residents of different villages in the district, were nabbed on prior information.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to have brought the consignment from Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh, said Mr Kalia. He used to sell it in the villages and was involved in smuggling for the last four years, Mr Kalia added.

A case under NDPS Act had been registered against the accused and further investigations were on.
