Suspected Maoist militant nabbed

Nandigram, Feb 12 (UNI) A suspected Maoist ultra was today arrested near Bangabera bridge at Sonachura under Nandigram police station.

East Midnapore Superintendent of Police S Panda said one Mithu Ghosh (38) aroused the suspicion of the villagers who informed the matter to the local Gram Pradhan.

Later, police arrested the suspected ultra and seized Maoist handbills, leaflets, booklets, a mobile handset and a sketch map of the area from his possession.

On interrogation, the miscreant admitted that he was behind many Maoist operations in the area during the past few months, police added.
