Sporadic violence mars Marathwada
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Feb 12 (UNI) Following the threat of possible arrest of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, party activists today resorted to violence at several parts of Marathwada, damaging State Transport and municipal buses in several stone-pelting incidents there.
According to police control room sources, one Jalna-Ahmednagar ST bus was set on fire near Jalna road here, while two municipal corporation buses were stoned by the MNS workers at Aurangapura area this afternoon.
While several ST buses were also stoned and damaged at different parts of the region, including Parbhani, Beed, Latur. No one was injured, police added.
Security has been stepped up in the city and the sensitive areas of the region to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, MNS district president Adv Ganesh Vankhede has threatened that bandh will be observed in the city, if Raj Thackeray was arrested.
Several MNS workers were arrested and released later by the police.
