Punjab Panchayat Assn to work on pattern of Kerala Parishad
Jalandhar, Feb 12 (UNI) The Panchayat Association of Punjab has decided to work on the pattern of Kerala Shastar Sahita Parishad (KSSP) in order to change the rural life for its betterment in the next 15 years.
Associaton president Sukhdev Singh Bareke and General Secretary Yadvinder Singh Sidhu, while addressing a press conference here today said the association would work as an institution on the pattern of KSSP, which was formed in 1965, for the welfare of the rural masses and make them aware about their rights. The movement would take the rural life in a new era by eliminating their economic and social backwardness, they added.
Mr Bareke said the association would involve people from all walks of life irrespective of their caste and creed, social organisations, youth clubs and even politicians in the institution as members.
''The government is discriminating with villages,'' he alleged, adding that ''Mega projects are coming up in the cities but the villages are deprived of even basic facilites.'' UNI DP PS JT RN1855
