'PerFact Evolve' finishing school launched

Kochi, Feb 12 (UNI) Recognising the need for skill upgradation and imparting specialised skills for generating qualified workforce, the Bangalore-based 'The Performance Factory' (PerFact) has launched a finishing school, 'PerFact Evolve' here.

Co-Promoter Dr Ajith Samuel said the school had tied-up with SCMS business school, where students would undergo a 20-hour training module on professional ettiquette and corporate behaviour.

Dr Samuel said the modules had been created and designed to increase workforce competency and enable students in different fields to make a smooth transition from campus to the corporate life.

The programme aims to upgrade soft skills like communicative English, presentation skills, public speaking and body language.

It gives an insight into Corporate life through Coporate ethos, organisational behaviour and etiquette modules, Dr Samuel said.

He said the initiative would be spread to other cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kannur in the state and Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore by 2009.

Co-Promoter Adith Abraham said '' If unemployment was the challenge until 2000, 'unemployables' are the challenge today and 'PerFact Evolve' will help the next generation workforce to cope with the new challenges faced in a corporate environment.'' He said many Corporate surveys had shown that there was a huge gap between what was required by the Corporates and freshly recruitted graduates in terms of their soft skills like communication, domain knowledge and workplace skills.

In addition to India and the Middle East, the company was also planning to commence operations in the Philippines to enter South East Asia region, Mr Abraham said.
