Migration, energy crisis major issue in India: Malone
Kochi, Feb 12 (UNI) Canadian High Commissioner in India David M Malone today said large scale migration, energy crisis and environment degradation were the major issues confronting countries like India.
Delivering a lecture on 'International Economic Relations' at School of Management Studies (SMS) in Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) here, Mr Malone said ''the three issues, along with climate change, will have a marked effect on the economic relations between nations in the globalised world.'' On Indo-US nuclear deal, Mr Malone said ''even if the deal gets the green signal from the respective political quarters, it needs to be ratified by the 45-member Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).'' He said Russia and France had shown their willingness for nuclear cooperation with India.
