JJM leader shot dead in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Feb 12 (UNI) Unidentified criminals gunned down Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch (JJM) leader Nagendra Singh at Raharagora under Parsudih police station here yesterday.

Police today said some armed miscreants opened fire from close range when Singh was returning home by his motorbike last evening.

The miscreants shot three bullets, killing the JJM leader on the spot and fled from the scene.

Police officials, including East Singhbhum Superintendent of Police N K Singh, rushed to the spot.

Police said apart from liquor trade, the deceased was involved in selling and purchasing of land, adding rivalry related to dispute over land might be the reason behind the killing.

None had been arrested so far in this connection.

Police launched a manhunt to nab the killers.
