Chandigarh Naval Unit NCC cadets felicitated

Chandigarh, Feb 12 (UNI) Felicitating the contingent of the Chandigarh NCC Naval Wing for standing first in Republic Day Parade 2008 held in the city, Commander DV Singh, Commanding Officer, 1 Chandigarh Naval Wing NCC awarded certificates to the cadets at a function held here today.

Meritorious certificates were also given to the cadets who attended the Combined Annual Training Camp held from 22 to 31 January.

In appreciation of their efforts and their commitment to social causes, Commander Singh congratulated the cadets and also awarded certificates of merit to senior division and senior wing cadets.

Chief Instructor of the unit MS Grover, Petty Officer (UW1) was awarded 'The Chief of Naval Staff Commendation' for exemplary duties during the conduct of various camps and training activities.

The cadets of the unit were also presented awards for actively participating in the Pulse Polio Drive held this Sunday. The cadets continuously manned the polio centers from morning till evening at various locations including the General Hospital and Medical College, Sector 32 and various civil dispensaries in the city.
