One hurt badly as man opens fire at friends

Madikeri (Karnataka), Feb 12: One person was seriously injured while two others escaped unhurt when a man opened fire at them at Begur Village, near here.

Police said Benjanda Kashi started firing yesterday at his friends C B Ganapathi and Ponnappa for selling his haystack for a very low price. When C C Vinod tried to intervene, he was caught in the crossfire and was injured.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Mysore where his condition was said to be serious. Later, irate onlookers beat up Kashi and handed him over to police.
