Maharashtra: High tide kills Mumbai couple

Mumbai, Feb 11 : In a tragic incident, a young couple was washed away by a high tide off the Mumbai coast. Onlookers said they tried to warn the couple that the water off Bandra beach was rising, but they were ignored.

"I kept on shouting to tell them to come at some height but they paid no heed. Soon water reached up to their neck. Then, I managed rope from a nearby hotel and threw it, the girl could catch it but to no use as the water level rose and they drowned," said Biru Kochare, an eyewitness.

Police confirmed the retrieval of both bodies.
