Temperature drops to sub zero in Adampur

Jalandhar, Feb 11 (UNI) Despite bright sunshine yesterday, there was no relief from the cold wave as night temperatures in most parts of Punjab registered a marginal decline.

Indian Air Force (IAF) base at Adampur was coldest place with minimum temperature once again dropping to below zero degree Celsius. The night temperature here was recorded at minus 1.6 degrees.

However, in the holy city of Amritsar the minimum rose by one degree and was recorded at 2.8 degrees. The minimum at the IAF base at Halwara fell to 1.2 degrees.

The night temperatures in the Malwa belt also dropped with Bhatinda recording 2.8 degrees. The border town of Pathankot was cold at 3.6 degrees.

However, the night temperature in Chandigarh registered a marginal increase and was recorded at 5.0 degrees while at Ambala it rose to 4.0 degrees.
