Silver, gold up: Bombay Bullion Assn

Mumbai, Feb 11: Precious metals moved up today as silver rose by Rs 110 per kg and gold by Rs 20 per ten gm, on better buying support in the opening session, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

In New York, an upward trend was seen in the precious metals as spot gold firmed to USD 923.00/924.50 an ounce from USD 918.00/918.70 an ounce even silver also edged up to USD 17.20/17.25 an ounce from USD 17.10/16.15 on strong global advice.

Following were the opening rates of spot silver and gold in the Bombay Bullion market today: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 21,610 Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 11,845 Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 11,900.
