One seriously injured in shootout in K'taka

Madikeri, Karnataka, Feb 11 (UNI) One person was seriously injured while two others luckily escaped unhurt when a man indiscriminately shot at them for a 'silly reason'.

Benjanda Kashi of Begur village near here suddenly started shooting at his two friends C B Ganapathi and Ponnappa of the same village. Both escaped unhurt due to long distance of target. Kashi had accused the duo for selling away his haystack at a very low price.

When one C C Vinod tried to interfere and stop further attack, he was injured in the cross fire. He immediately collapsed and was shifted to a Mysore hospital. His condition is said to be serious.

Irate onlookers then beat up the shooter and then handed him over him to police.
