NRIs welfare body welcome Centre's decision
Kozhikode, Feb 11 (UNI) A Sharjah-based Non-Resident Indians welfare body today welcomed the Centre's decision to introduce more foreign airlines from Karippur International Airport here.
Pravasi Bandhu Welfare Trust (PWBT), in an e-mail message from Sharjah, said allowing travel permit to four UAE-based airlines, Emirates, Ithihad, Air Arabia and Rak, would create competitions among them paving the way for fare reduction in the Gulf sector.
It would also end the travel woes of passengers, who were flocking other airports, including Kochi and Coimbatore, in the absence of frequent services from Karippur, it said.
It also thanked all non-resident Keralite organisations and political parties for their support to achieve the long pending demand, it added.
