Land acquired for JLPP
Jayankondam, Feb 11 (UNI) The Ariyalur district administration has acquired 3,390 hectares for the Jayamkondam Lignite Power Project (JLPP), taken up by the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, according to District Collector V M Xavier Chrisso Nayagam.
In a release here today, he said as many as 10,325 of the 11,489 land owners, who passed on their property for the project, were awarded a compensation to the tune of Rs 36.56 crore.
Among them, 9,882 had filed petitions seeking higher compensation and this would be sorted out by two special sub-courts.
