Heavy rains in south coastal AP
Visakhapatnam, Feb 11: The trough of low pressure formed two days ago in the Bay of Bengal lay centred over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and extended to south Tamil Nadu this morning.
According to the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here, under its influnce, rain or thunder showers were likely at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
Heavy rains were also likely at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.
The significant rainfall recorded for the last 24 hours ending 0830 hrs today were: Ongole 9 cm, Bapatla and Machilipatnam 6 cm each, Tuni and Kavali two cm each, Visakha Airport and Naraspur one cm each.
