DQE, PPC sign MoU for three animation films
Chennai, Feb 11 (UNI) Recognising the potential and acute need for the production of high-end animated Indian films, DQ Entertainment (DQE) and Percept Picture Company (PPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for producing three animation films.
A company release here today said the films were slated for release in 2009-2010.
After taking the entire industry by storm with their first edition of the 'Super Hero - Hanuman' and 'Return of Hanuman', DQE would make three high quality animation films -- two in the entertaining mythology genre and the third, a complete Bollywood masala flick-- in association with PPC at an estimated budget of about 25 million US Dollars.
DQ Entertainment Limited CEO Tapaas Chakravarti said ''the business proposal and co-production understanding between PPC and DQE is aimed at bringing high quality visuals and international success to India.'' Percept Picture Managing Director Shailendra Singh said ''we promise to deliver the finest quality entertainment to the world audience through our association with DQE.'' ''The Indian animation feature market today finds itself at unprecedented values since the whopper hit 'Hanuman' (2005). The movie not only smashed records in the animation segment, but went on to achieve further heights when it broke DVD sales record in 2006 followed by the release of PPC's 'Return of Hanuman' in 2007,'' Mr Singh said.
