Tamil Nadu: Cop commits suicide in Dingul

Coimbatore, Feb 11: A 25-year-old policeman attached to 14th Battalion Armed Reserve Police in Dindgul allegedly committed suicide at police training ground in the city today.

Police said the body of Velmurugan was found lying on the ground. Primary investigation had revealed that he had consumed poison. Meanwhile, police thwarted a suicide bid by a person from Sirumugai at Collectorate here.

The person identified as Amavasai had threatened to commit suicide, protesting against the police inaction on a complaint filed by him against former Sirumugai Panchayath President.
