Constable held for accepting bribe

Bangalore, Feb 11 (UNI) A police constable was arrested by Lokayukta sleuths on charges of accepting bribe at Huyilgol in Gadag district of Karnataka today.

An official release here said constable D M Kattimani was caught red-handed acting on a complaint filed by one Shiddappa.

Kattimani, along with his colleagues N N Ambiger and R N Sanganal, had demanded Rs 15,000 for not booking a case of kidnap against the complainant.

They threatened to book the case against Shiddappa while he was taking his relative Neelamma in a friend's motorcycle.

Kattimani, caught while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 1500, was later produced before the court.

Efforts were on to apprehend his colleagues, the release added.
