Science Express to open for public on Feb 12
Bhubaneswar, Feb 10 (UNI) The Exhibition on Wheels ''Science Express'' will arrive at Mancheswar Railway Station near here on Tuesday in a bid to encourage talented youths to understand the excitement of career in teaching and research in different science disciplines.
An East Coast Railway (ECoR) release issued here today said the Exhibition will be opened for public from 1000 hours to 1800 hours from February 12 to 15.
The Science Express, the exhibition train, has been developed by Rashtriya Vigyan Evam Prodyogiki Sanchar Parishad (RVPSP), Department of Science and Technology.
The ECoR will provide elaborate arrangement of the exhibition of Science Express for the convenience of the visitors. Bhubaneswar is its 29th stoppage.
The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on October 30, 2007, from Safdar Jung Railway Station, Delhi.
The Science Express, a fully air-conditioned train consisting of 13 Exhibition coaches, has been developed for students pursuing science at the Senior Secondary and Research students.
It will take about three hours time for viewing the displays.
The major objectives of this Indo-German joint venture was to nurture curiosity amongst the youths and rekindle their interest in science.
The train will be exhibited at least over 56 stations during its eight months journey across the country.
