Paswan announces bounty for workers

Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, Feb 10 (UNI) Union Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has laid the foundation stone for a Rs 11,262-crore project of the Bhilai Steel Plant.

''Seven million tonnes of steel is being produced against demand of 12 million in the domestic market. The shortfall cannot be met by the public sector alone,'' he said last evening.

Mr Paswan also announced that 10 gm gold and Rs 2,000 each would be given to more than 32,000 workers of the plant on its golden jubilee.
