JCT, Phagwara blank Air India Mumbai 2-0

Ludhiana, Feb 10 (UNI) Punjab's premier soccer outfit JCT, Phagwara blanked Air India Mumbai 2-0 in the 17th match of the I-league at the Guru Nanak stadium here today.

The goal scorer for the Millmen were Eduardo Escobar and Daljit Singh who made their mark in the second half.

With this win, JCT now move up to 29 points and are at the 2nd spot in the I-league table behind Dempo Sports Club, Goa.

Air India stay on 17 point.

After a dull and goaless first half, the millmen pulled up their socks and in the 52nd minute their Brazilian striker Eduardo found the net.

A pass from the skipper Sunil Chhettri saw the lanky Brazilian take a powerful shot from the top of the penalty area beat the Air India custodian.

The Millmen increased the lead in the 66th minute when Daljit's free kick from outside the penalty area zoomed straight into the net.
