Hospital staff hold dharna

Puducherry,Feb 10(UNI)Work at the Government General Hospital here was affected for some time as the Group 'D' Staff stayed away from work and held a dharna demanding adequate security to hospital staff.

According to the workers,CPM Activist Manibala who came to the hospital after the visting hours, was stopped at the gate by Watchman Veerappan resulting in an altercation between them.

Manibala lodged a complaint with the police following which Veerappan was detained at the police station for a long time.

Medical Superintendent V Govindarajan and RMO Selvaraj held talks with them and assured to take steps for proper security to the staff following which the protestors resumed work.
