CPI(M) State Conference begins at Kottayam

Kottayam, Feb 10 (UNI) The Kerala unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) began its four-day State Conference, by hoisting the party flag at the Nehru Stadium here this evening.

Party State unit Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, LDF Convener Vaikom Viswam, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Education Minister M A Baby, Health Minister P K Sreemathy, Finance Minister Thomas Issac, Party State Committee members, delegates and thousands of party cadres participated in the ianugural function.

Party General Secretary Prakash Karat would inaugurate the delegate session at Mammen Mappila Hall tomorrow. Politburo Members S Ramachandran Pillai, Sitaram Yechuri, R Umanath, Brinda Karat, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and other leaders would participate in the conference.
