No partner to quit LF after Dinhata incident : Bardhan

Kolkata, Feb 9 (UNI) CPI general secretary A B Bardhan today ruled out walking out of the Left Front and made it clear that all the questions and problems would be sorted out within the Front.

" Dinhata police firing is unfortunate and I think the Government should take lesson from the incident. The Front is not a single party government and all the four Front partners' have a contribution towards its formation, " Mr Bardhan said on the sidelines of a Bank employees' union conference.

" Firing on the Forward Bloc agitators was a great mistake on the part of the Government, but no constituent would quit the Front, " he said.

" No partner will quit the Front after the Dinhata incident and all the differences would be sorted out within the Front itself, " Mr Bardhan added.

He also said after forming the Front in late 70s, it was decided that police would not open fire on any mass movement, but it was not being adhered to now.

" The Government should not have given a clean chit to police after the incident and it is necessary to issue a code of conduct, " the veteran leader said.
