Mercury dips in Punjab, Adampur coldest at 1.0 degree celsius
Jalandhar, Feb 9 (UNI) Adampur airbase near here today turned out to be the coldest place as the night temperature further dropped in Punjab.
According to a defence spokesperson, the minimum temperature recorded at Adampur was 1.0 degree celsius as against yesterday's 3.8 degree celsius.
In the holy city of Amritsar, the minimum temperature dropped to 1.8 degree celsius, while the night temperature recorded at Halwara airbase near Ludhiana was 2.4 degrees celsius.
In the border town of Pathankot, the minimum temperatures plunged to 3.0 degree celsius from yesterday's 6.4 degrees celsius, while Bathinda was cold at 2.8 degrees celsius as against yesterday's 3.6 degrees celsius.
The minimum temperature registered in the Union Territory of Chandigarh was 5.0 celsius, whereas yesterday it was 8.2 degees celsius.
For the next 24 hours, the met office has predicted fog, mist and haze in the morning and fine to fair weather during the day.
