German delegation signs three Letters of Indents

Hyderabad, Feb 9 (UNI) A high-level German delegation today signed three Letters of Indents (LoIs) to collaborate with the University of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The LoIs envisage close cooperation with the University of Hyderabad and Bio M Biotech Cluster, Development GMBH, Bavaria, Germany.

The LoIs were agreements to explore the possibility of collaboration in the field of biotechnology, management, technology transfer, knowledge creation and innovation leading to incubation and production and to jointly initiate proposals in frontier and interdisciplinary areas.

The LoIs also extend the necessary cooperation in setting up of the Knowledge and Innovation Park being jointly set up at the University of Hyderabad by APIC and the University.

The LoIs were signed by the University of Hyderabad and BioM Biotech Cluster Development, Technologiepark Heidelberg GmbH and BioTOP Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany.

Both the parties would promote and cooperate in academic exchange in the broad areas of mutual interest, R&D collaborations, training and teaching and assisting each other for the organisation, participation in national and international symposia, conferences, specialised exhibitions and similar events taking place in the respective countries.

Stating that there was immense opportunities for both the countries to promote biotechnology, the Chief Minister hoped that German entrepreneurs would set up their centres in Andhra Pradesh soon.
