Family members demand compensation

Puducherry, Feb 9 (UNI) The family members and relatives of a 35-year-old private employee, who died in a mysterious circumstance in a factory yesterday, picketed the factory and office of the Superintendent of Police (Rural) demanding compensation to the family, today.

Jayakumar of Nonamkuppam, who went for work as usual in the factory at the Saiderapat industrial estate, died and his body was taken to the Government General Hospital for post-mortem.

However, the family members refused to receive the body stating that there was mystery behind his death, and he did not die because of a heart attack.

Rural SP Mr Mohanraj held talks with the agitators, following which they dropped the agitation.

However, they said they would not collect the body till adequate compensation was paid.

Police were holding talks with the factory management for an amicable solution.
